I am Weiwen Yin. I will be joining the Department of Asian and Policy Studies, The Education University of Hong Kong from January 2021 as an assistant professor. I recently received my Ph.D. degree from the Department of Political Science, Texas A&M University and worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Columbia-Harvard China and the World Program.
My research and teaching interests include comparative and international political economy, international law and organizations, economic history, and quantitative methods, with a regional focus of East Asia. My publications appear in Journal of Conflict Resolution, Review of International Organizations, International Relations of the Asia-Pacific, among others. In 2019, my research was funded by the Japanese Studies Fellowship, Japan Foundation.
Before entering Texas A&M University, I received my B.A. from the School of International Studies, Peking University, M.P.P. from The University of Tokyo, and M.A. in political science from Central European University. I was also working as a research assistant at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore in 2015-2016.
